THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Saffron's Restaurant Review:
We can't find better jerk chicken or curry goat over rice on the west side of Tampa Bay. In addition to friendly service and twinkling lights throughout the interior, Saffron's sits alongside Boca Ciega Bay. A small nearby public park is home to at least one rogue peacock whose cry adds a touch of primal sound effects at night. Also outside, Steve, the resident rooster, comes on command from selected servers. Inside, the restaurant's menu is very Caribbean and its namesake spice (the hand-picked one that's the world's most expensive!) can be found on rice, of course, and sometimes in the secret house marinades for fish and chicken. The terrific jerk sauce is available even on the vegetarian sandwich and the grilled steak.
