Salut Bar Americain Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Truth be told, we like stopping here on a summer night---say, after a movie at the nearby Edina Theatre---and having a glass of wine and good steak frites. Whether we sit outside at one of the sidewalk tables near blooming flowerboxes, or inside amidst candlelit brasserie décor, this always is a happening place to be.
Food: Meals here can be pricey (consider the blue cheese-crusted filet mignon), but you also can get a moderately priced burger. We like “ze onion soup” patty, topped with a pile of caramelized onions and cheese and served with a bowl of onion broth on the side---just in case you’re inclined to try the “au jus” thing with your burger.
