Sara The Wine Bar Restaurant Review:
An odd space, off-kilter décor, and a spunky yet friendly owner only add to the charm at Sara, an Italian restaurant and wine bar at the south end of Culver City. Though it can be difficult to find, it is certainly worth the journey. Several rooms seem to be brought together to create the dining area, while a small patio can be found in front. For eats, guests may start with a good version of bruschetta, made with grilled ciabatta that allows the juice of the sweet tomatoes, olive oil and garlic to soak into the bread. Meatballs are delicate, with a flavorful yet light tomato sauce, while shrimp diavola has a real kick of heat in a spicy garlic-white wine sauce. Pizzas are crispy and rectangular in shape with toppings like spicy Italian sausage, herbs, and the same nuanced tomato sauce. For dessert, the lemon-scented tiramisu is a winner. While the wine list is short, especially for a wine bar, it offers a variety of Californian and Italian options all at reasonable prices.
