Satay Junction Restaurant Review:
Set in what has to be the narrowest dining room in Manhattan, this six-table Indonesian restaurant in the West Village serves up authentic (if a tad greasy) specialties from the Southeast Asian nation. Diners can mix and match meat and vegetables. For example, the namesake dish, satays---served with a slightly spicy peanut sauce---come in vegetable, beef, salmon and/or chicken (of which the latter is best). There’s also filling nasi goring, fried rice which comes with the usual suspects (listed above), as does mee goring, pan-fried noodles. For something slightly lighter, try the ayam kare: chicken with a savory, turmeric-laced coconut milk.
