Sattdown Jamaican Grill Restaurant Review:
Jamaican cooking is not common in the Valley, but Sattdown delivers the real deal. Guests begin with conch fritters, jerk wings or a tropical salad, before moving on to staples like curried goat, braised oxtails, and jerk-flavored chicken or shrimp. Some more imaginative dishes come out of the kitchen, too, like jerk ahi or mahi mahi, orange-crusted salmon and apricot-glazed lamb --- plus, jerk tofu for vegan customers. For dessert, you’ll find a Jamaican-style rum cake or tropically flavored gelato. There’s no Red Stripe or any other alcohol, but a ginger-sorrel infusion is a popular island beverage. And despite its mini-mall location, Sattdown’s intimate dining room has a pleasant charm.
