THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Seasons at the Ocean House Restaurant Review:
The Ocean House is one of the most elegant resorts in New England, and Seasons restaurant represents an outsized facet of its charm. The main dining room maintains the feel of a classic shorefront home despite its dimensions, with a working fireplace and oil-fired lamps. Seasons’ menu brings the concept of farm-to-table to a granular level. Nothing on your plate has traveled more than 150 miles to reach the kitchen, and the herbs come from the garden out back. As you might imagine, the menu changes seasonally; a January evening, for example, has brought a terrine with foie gras from the La Belle duck farm in upstate New York, a grass-fed rib-eye from cattle raised in Maine, and a tasting menu featuring salad greens from Westport, Mass., cod from Chatham, and a crème fraîche panna cotta with cheese from Vermont. Selections from an expansive "to go" table of desserts cap off a notable evening of dining.
