Slay Italian Kitchen Restaurant Review:
Slay Italian Kitchen is a swank Manhattan Beach spot from restaurateur David Slay (Slay Steak + Fish House, il Garage Ristorante). He enlisted chef Don Dickman (All’ Acqua) to rev up a rustic Italian menu featuring stone-fired pizza, pastas, roasts and vegetables from Slay’s own vineyard; Slay’s Santa Barbara wines are also offered. Look for dishes like burrata with homemade kumquat and white balsamic jam; bucatini with wild boar ragù; and lamb chops scottadito with wilted greens and pistachio mint pesto. Pizza dough is hand-formed and fermented for at least 48 hours, with specialty pies including the Squash Blossom & Broccoli di Ciccio with roasted onion crema and Fontina cheese.
