Smith & Cohen Restaurant Review:
The wall of windows that surround this beer bar and gastropub in Century City allows plenty of light to flood into the massive space, while elements such as red brick, wood and signs painted like 1950s billboards highlight the comfortable Americana setting. Expansive, maroon-colored booths encompass one third of the dining room; another third is dominated by wood tables, and the rest by a 360-degree wraparound bar with 120 beers on tap. Smith & Cohen (formerly SmithHouse Tap & Grill) offers a lengthy menu, which ranges from sandwiches and salads to rice bowls, burgers, barbecue and tacos. The beer fondue, a rich, formidable mix of Harp’s Lager and several cheeses, makes a good dip for the accompanying homemade pretzels. Bread pudding, cheesecake and cookie à la mode are available for dessert. Breakfast offerings are also served all day. Beers include hard-to-find brews like He’Brew Origin Pomegranate Ale and Allagash Curieux on draft.
