Soulard's Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review:
What was once an industrial hub is now a residential neighborhood of young families and professionals, which explains why there are so many area watering holes --- and why, like Soulard’s, many of them still offer breakfast at what used to be the end of the third shift. It’s a weekend tradition the newcomers have fully embraced. Weekdays and evenings, Soulard's serves typical St. Louis appetizers, such as flash-fried spinach and toasted ravioli, alongside entrées like peppered Black Angus filet and marinated grilled pork chops, mostly washed down with a nice selection of red wines. But there’s also a slight Southern flavor in the Creole-marinated calamari, Cajun-spiced salmon and blackened grouper. The most beloved dish on the menu --- and rightly so --- is the fruit-laden bread pudding with whiskey sauce.
