South Point Argentine Grill Restaurant Review:
This small, contemporary dining room is hidden in a mini-mall on a corner of Sunset Boulevard. A mostly neighborhood-oriented crowd tucks into traditional Argentine favorites at tables topped with black linen and butcher paper, while fútbol plays on a plasma screen. Begin with a pair of empanadas (try the ham and cheese version) or opt for calamari fritti or a salad with cilantro dressing before sharing a parrillada (mixed grill with steak, sweetbreads, blood sausage, chorizo and more that can probably feed three), or chicken milanesa. The limited wine list offers some respectable pours from South America and around the world. There’s also a long list of specialty tropical drinks. For dessert, consider flan or the signature panqueques filled with dulce de leche.
