Speedy Romeo Restaurant Review:
Situated on a quiet corner in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, Speedy Romeo serves up pizzas from a wood-fired oven as well as burgers and salads. Only two of the handful of pizzas come with tomato sauce, the chef (a former Jean-Georges toque) preferring the pizza in a Bianca variety. And when they’re this good --- first-timers must get The Kind Brother (mushroom, mozzarella and a fried egg) --- why not? Non-pizza options also entice, particularly the juicy burger (even though it comes with potato chips and not fries). The sparse Caesar salad is a disappointment. Instead, head straight for the pizzas and entrées and don’t turn back. Complement your meal with a glass of vino, many of which are priced in the single digits.
