Spoke & Wheel Tavern and Eatery Restaurant Review:
Located just behind the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, this massive Sedona offshoot of the Phoenix eatery almost feels like a labyrinth. Once you find a table in the open, airy space, you’re in for a rather good take on modern American cuisine with a twinge of Southwestern inspiration. Start off with a sausage and soft pretzel platter with fingerling potatoes or a bowl of grilled chicken pozole with avocado. Sandwiches and burgers, the latter of which feature house-ground short rib and sirloin along with house-made buns, make for an ideal nosh for those looking to grab some fuel before or after a long day of shopping or sightseeing. Mains range from classic American fare like crispy fish ‘n’ chips to such regional choices as mesquite-grilled steak with chimichurri and caramelized onions. The compact dessert line-up is highlighted by crispy banana churros. Locals take note: If you arrive on your bicycle, you’ll be able to enjoy the selection of craft cocktails and food from the happy hour menu at happy hour prices all day.
