The Spoon Trade Restaurant Review:
The Spoon Trade was launched by an experienced trio of young restaurateurs. Sourcing almost exclusively from local purveyors allows the kitchen to create seasonal menus of classic comfort food with upscale touches. Successes have been grilled octopus with salsa verde, spaghetti carbonara with duck confit and a mushroom potpie lightened with fresh arugula. The from-scratch approach also applies to the breads, so don’t pass up the house-made sourdough. For dessert, stick to the fruit offerings such as stone fruit upside-down cake. The beverage program entices with cocktails crafted out of beer, bubbles, vermouths and sherries, and the locally focused wine list presents good by-the-glass choices. Several seating options are available in the casual, open dining area, but guests might also relax and eat outside on the patio.
