Stacked Restaurant Review:
This chain of casual restaurants offers two styles of dining: customers can let the kitchen prepare entrées like burgers, pizzas, salads and sausages, or they can take control and create their own versions within the same categories. So while the house-created Kung Fusion burger, with its Angus beef, cucumbers, wasabi mayo, sriracha mayo and pickled ginger slaw, is served on a brioche bun, one may also opt to “stack” their own with a veggie patty, butter lettuce, Brie, avocado, caramelized onions and shallot mayo on a pretzel bun. The trick is, of course, not to get too inventive, as the place will unite peanut butter spread and red bell peppers if requested. Potato chips, coleslaw, onion strings and a variety of fries can be ordered separately with a number of different dipping sauces, like butternut squash aïoli and curry ketchup. The same presentation goes for dessert in the form of cookie sandwiches and shakes, with a choice of cookie, ice cream and toppings. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the restaurant is that all ordering is done through individual touch-screen tablets at each table, though servers do come by to drop off food or refill drinks.
