While Hawaii’s Starbucks are about the same as any other of its shops, the oatcakes have a devoted following. Although unassuming in appearance, being decidedly lumpy, unattractive and a rather bluish gray, the oatcake recipe is jealously guarded. Locals in the know line up for them and travelers seek them out. Another item available only here is the Hawaii-themed Starbucks card. Buy one and load it with a few bucks. If you’re just visiting, you'll have a special souvenir for yourself, or for the unlucky folks who didn't travel to Hawaii with you.
