Station 16 Restaurant Review:

Station 16, part of the ever-expanding 16th Street dining corridor, fits the midtown mold with its nightclub-like setting and industrial chic décor. Slate black floors, sleek red upholstery and reclaimed wood accents create a vibe that is both refined and down-home, while a central bar area is peppered with no less than a dozen flat-screen TVs. The menu is the main draw, the seafood dishes the star of the show --- classic seafood house specialties, many with a Southern twist. Starters include a crab cake, lightly fried, the rich meat offset with the tang of a citrus vinaigrette. Shrimp ceviche was briny and fresh, a kick of jalapeño providing a surprising heat. Fresh oysters are also available, with selections changing daily. Entrées run the gamut; the lobster roll is a rare find in this city, the sweet meat and buttery roll a delicacy. The iron seafood skillets are a good bet, and include a choice of prawns, mussels, crab and clams. Wash it all down with a fishbowl full of rum punch or whiskey tea, and indulge in skillet apple pie for dessert.
