Stella showcases the culinary skills of John Kirk rather than jewels, as the building used to do in its heyday as a jewelry store. But there is plenty of sparkle. Kirk originally described his menu as Global Contemporary with a Southern flair but over the years the Southern accent has faded. Asian accents produce inventive dishes under Kirk’s culinary leadership. So today’s menu features sesame ginger salad, a Kobe beef burger, rack of lamb with adornments that vary seasonally, and pan-roasted salmon with cumin-scented carrots. Molten chocolate cake is the dessert you don't want to miss. Some 35 wines are offered by the glass, primarily from California, and there are a few dessert wines.
