Stephen’s Market & Grill Restaurant Review:

Stephen’s Market & Grill is a cavernous main room with an adjunct Mediterranean market and bakery cases brimming with baklava. Chef Gregory Katrakazos helms the open kitchen, slicing juicy, tender lamb from a vertical spit, tossing massive Greek salads, and greeting regular patrons who line up to order at the counter. Despite the counter-order service and budget-friendly prices, this place turns out some of the best Greek food in town. Chef Katrakazos pays loving tribute to his homeland, importing authentic feta and spices from the Old Country. His spanakopita offers a balance of savory filling and paper-thin, flaky phyllo. Specials may feature roasted leg of lamb, Greek-style baby-back ribs and moussaka. In the interest of cultural inclusiveness (or perhaps it’s just part of the restaurant’s family-friendly vibe) the menu includes a few American standards, but we suggest you skip the burgers and sandwiches. Grab a gyro instead.
