THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sterling's Steaks & Seafood Restaurant Review:
Father and son Baxter Simmons Sr. and Jr. started Sterling’s in Norfolk before branching out to Towne Place in Chesapeake. They’ve since transformed their downtown original into Snappers, a more causal spot emphasizing seafood, but this Greenbrier outpost continues its tradition of topnotch, in-house-butchered steaks, seafood and prime rib amidst an upscale yet easygoing atmosphere. Live jazz adds a special allure to the dining experience. The steakhouse concept means that, for an extra charge, you can order enhancements such as hollandaise or béarnaise sauce and sides such as sautéed asparagus, creamed spinach or Havarti twice-baked potatoes. The wine list is notable and especially suited to not just the beefy options but also entrées along the lines of chicken piccata and fettuccine alla vodka with Parmigiano-Reggiano. Entrées are available at lunch along with sandwiches including hot beef and cheddar on toasted ciabatta and marinated portobello in a spinach tortilla.
