Sundance the Steakhouse Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Family-owned and -operated in the same location (originally under the name Sundance Mine Co.) for almost forty years, Sundance the Steakhouse specializes in slow-roasted prime rib and aged steaks. It was once the only game in town for high-end steak --- and particularly prime rib --- on the Peninsula; nowadays, newer spots such as Fleming's give Sundance an old-fashioned feel. The atmosphere is upscale but still conveys “steakhouse,” with dark wood accents and old sports memorabilia on the walls. High-backed booths are comfortable and private.

Food & Drinks: Start with a classic wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with house-made blue cheese dressing. The Prime filet mignon is tender, juicy and flavorful, as is the New York strip and center cut top sirloin. But the prime rib is king --- cooked to order, carved lean and served au jus with a side of creamy horseradish. The wine list offers more than 450 globally sourced selections. Service is friendly but a bit too laid back.
