If you’re in a group, it’s fun to sit at Sushiya’s teppan grills and watch all the knife-clanging and onion ring-tossing action. For sushi, we tend to stick to specialty rolls like the spicy Dragon or Hawaiian, but the big crowd-pleaser is the "Fire in the Roll" crab/avocado/snapper creation that is, indeed, served flaming. Tempura is always nice and crispy and includes vegetables such as parsnips and eggplant. For dessert, check out the banana tempura or tempura ice cream. Local wines join the saké and bottled beer line-up. This spacious restaurant can offer spotty service, but most of the menu items are pretty solid.
