Swagat Restaurant Review:
Swagat delivers on value: the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet is one of the most generous around. You can fill yourself to bursting on a variety of rich and creamy standards such as butter chicken, saag paneer, aloo gobi, lamb curry and tandoori kebabs. Dinner offers a wide variety of more subtle options. Probably the most interesting main dish is the South Indian dosa, a rice or lentil crêpe stuffed with a variety of savory, usually vegetable-based, fillings. Pancakes are delicate, but so big they drape over a plate. Every entrée may be ordered as part of a “thali dinner” that turns it into a complete meal with soup, rice, naan, vegetable curry, lentil dal, raita and the daily dessert. Order a bottle of native Kingfisher beer or a glass of “lotus milk,” a blend of chai, 151 rum, Frangelico and Irish crème --- served flaming, of course. Also located in Beaverton and Hillsboro.
