Taormina Restaurant Review:
In a modern space with a cozy outdoor patio that welcomes the warm tropical breezes, a highly stylized Sicilian fare reflects a spare Japanese aesthetic in presentation but embraces the rich flavors one expects. The bucatini demonstrates this marriage nicely with the al dente pasta dressed in saffron, anchovies and pine nuts tossed with olive oil and topped with fresh grilled sardines served in a beautiful bowl. Le carni includes a hearty lamb chop with seasonal vegetables and seafood lovers will want to look for the seafood offering of the day---often very simply prepared in a tomato, caper and lemon broth. You could order the cannoli for dessert, but we recommend the Campari orange jelly with lychee sorbet for a bright burst of flavor to end your meal. The staff and service are attentive and cordial.
