THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tetsu Restaurant Review:

Tetsu is chef Masa Takayama’s first teppan grill concept, a restaurant-within-a-restaurant located inside Bar Masa. The interactive dining experience is a presentation of skill (you won’t observe any onion volcanoes here) and the show is in watching the chefs complete all their intricate prepping, cooking and plating using only two knives. The à la carte menu changes seasonally, and a produce table displays the day’s selection of meats, seafood and vegetables; from these guests specify the ingredients and portion size they desire. We enjoyed the starters of sizzling octopus with jalapeño, and lean tuna sashimi with shaved wasabi. Entrées include filet mignon, rib-eye, Japanese Ohmi A5, Chilean sea bass, whole lobster and duck breast. Finish with soba ice cream infused with soba seeds or Takayama’s signature truffle ice cream. In addition to several sakés, a 30-page wine list is joined with several hard-to-find Japanese craft beers, such as Yo-Ho Brewing’s Tokyo Black Porter.
