THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Thai Basil #2 Restaurant Review:
Even though Thai Basil #2 lacks the pleasantly funky, lived-in feel of the nearby original on South Murphy, the food is just as good. Start with a skewered satay, or a variation called kai yang. The salad-like larb is refreshing and fiery; ample for two, it's a good change of pace from pad thai, though Thai Basil does that well, too. For dinner, go for the keaw wan, a lovely coconut-tinged green curry, or the spicy panang neua, a red curry that pairs best with beef. Also located at 101 S. Murphy Ave., Sunnyvale, 408-773-1098.
