Thai Fresh Restaurant Review:
When Jam Sanitchat opened Thai Fresh, she already had fans from her farmers market stands and Thai cooking classes. All the meats are procured from local sources; vegetables and fruits are local and organic whenever possible. Fresh selections are presented in a deli case, and customers can either purchase items by the pound (in reusable to-go containers) or construct their own combo plates for immediate gratification at one of the wooden tables. Some staples include the pad thai (with tofu or chicken); at least three curries; and a chicken and rice dish that makes one wonder how something so seemingly simple can be so flavorful. The restaurant doubles as a mini grocery, stocked with hard-to-find Thai ingredients. We’d be remiss not to mention the homemade ice creams, which have gained a reputation even beyond Austin---we suggest the peach-coconut. Oh, and come prepared: Thai Fresh is BYOB.
