Thai Talay Restaurant Restaurant Review:
This quietly elegant restaurant’s exotic woods, sprays of green grasses and crisp white linens hint at how much attention is paid to presentation. The head chef/co-owner is skilled in the art of carving, so a simple radish becomes edible art. Equal thought is given to all the classic dishes, as well as the signature items. Barbecue garlic pork is crisp and juicy; tom sap rib-eye beef stew is a simmered bowl of contrasting elements, such as lemon grass and toasted rice; we also favor the sauce drizzled atop the grilled sweet salmon. For dessert, try the decadent but delicate Thai coconut custard, which is baked right in the coconut shell. The well thought out wine list stocks mostly local labels, offering varietals like Sauvignon Blancs and Rieslings that are good accompaniments to this cuisine.
