If you sit at the counter in Uncle Bill's at breakfast time for one week and listen to conversations, you will know everything there is to know about local politics and cultural life, and hear plenty of good jokes, too. Of course, if you're inside at the counter you're missing the ocean view from the outdoor patio. Breakfast is the go-to meal, featuring omelets, the famous calorie bomb that is the cheddar cheese and bacon waffle, and the even heftier Potatoes Del Riego --- hash browns sautéed with bacon and cheese, plus sour cream, bell peppers, onions and avocado. Still, it wouldn’t be a pancake house without pancakes. On any given day, there are at least ten fluffy varieties, including blueberry, cinnamon-apple and banana-buckwheat. Lunch brings a variety of burgers, salads and sandwiches, and soups and chili.
