The back half of this charming bistro-like eatery operates as a bustling artisan market for Belmont Shore locals, who drop by to pick up cheeses, freshly made salads, desserts, and regional craft beers. Patrons who gather around the unfussy tables and booths in the front of the space for breakfast, lunch or dinner can observe the action at the marketplace or the buzz of the neighborhood through large windows. The compact dinner menu features a surprising mix of contemporary and trendy fare, as dishes like London sirloin and bone-in lamb shank are listed alongside roasted bone marrow. Even though the bevy of burgers and sandwiches are confined to the lunch menu, they can still be ordered during the evening --- an option that we endorse. Since the restaurant offers fine meats and cheeses at its marketplace, partaking of a cheese plate is a must, either for a starter or as a dessert. Early-risers can fuel up for the day by stopping by and savoring omelets, buttermilk pancakes and other traditional breakfast items.
