Victor's 1959 Cafe Restaurant Review:
You can find American faves on the menu, but why not delve into the breakfast Cubano side? Try a sweet plantain omelet or mango pancakes as you sway to the Latin music. Or go for the Basque Scrambler with three eggs, peppers, onions and sassy chorizo. The guava jam served with toast is a fresh alternative to grape jelly, and the café con leche is the most authentic coffee and sweet milk combination in the city. For lunch, you’ll find reasonably priced sandwiches, the best bet being the medianoche Cubano, which is piled with ham, pork loin, pickles and Swiss cheese on light egg bread. Plenty of dinner choices include Cuban chicken stew---saucy and served with plantains.
