The Warehouse Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:
This is one of Alexandria’s revered old-timers, offering prime meats and upscale dishes to a discerning crowd. Featuring a Thai chef as its kitchen overseer, the restaurant also highlights assorted Southern/Creole/Cajun selections that range from a Cajun “popcorn” fried shrimp salad, Creole alligator stew and Cajun jambalaya to its take on the po’ boy stuffed with fried oysters, here called The George Gilpin --- a sandwich that misses the mark. Cajun-style meatloaf and spicy pecan-crusted chicken are among dinnertime main courses. Brunch and lunch menus basically resemble each other with several egg plates to greet the new day added to the former, along with New Orleans french toast with bacon or sausage. Expect a short but carefully thought out wine and beverage list. Wrap up any meal with a traditional favorite like caramel custard and cheesecake or grilled bread pudding.
