THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Watusi Restaurant Review:

New World cuisine is how Watusi characterizes its food. Caribbean, West Indies, Jamaica, that kind of fare. However, like a new mother-in-law, Caribbean cuisine takes a little getting used to, to warm up to. Not everyone would take to, say, calabaza (West Indian pumpkin) soup, or lobster-conch fritters, but we kind of did. And what is there not to like about spit-roasted suckling pig? The ragged pieces of pork tender as the night. And, honestly, we thought that the pineapple-rum cake was smashing. The contemporary, casual atmosphere may be just a bit too casual, considering the prices and the underbelly of the Kennedy Expressway location.
