Wrangler's Steakhouse Restaurant Review:
From its historic location in the restored Ako General Store Building, this restaurant falls into the refined category. Eateries are scarce here, which partly accounts for this place’s popularity. The rest can be attributed to the solid food, friendly service and unique setting. A distinctive feature is the outdoor deck, since Waimea is well-suited to al fresco dining. The food is basic steakhouse, featuring grilled, fried and pan-fried steaks, along with Japanese tempura, chops, ribs, a few fresh fish choices and pasta. For a true taste of old Hawaii, order the Asian-style lunch served in a kau kau tin, a metal lunch pail carried by plantation field workers.
