There’s a Dickensian feel at this oyster bar with a wide ranging wine list.
Wright Brothers Oyster & Porter House Restaurant Review:
It looks the proper Victorian part for an oyster and porter house, with a long oyster bar, high tables and the day’s offerings chalked up on big blackboards. On market days, it’s the place for a plate of oysters and a view of the bustling fruit and vegetable stalls. Oysters come in different styles: natural, New Orleans (deep-fried with tartar sauce), Japanese (wasabi, soy and ginger); there’s fish soup, oysters Rockefeller, pâtés and more to start. Mains include crab, a traditional fish pie, beef, Guinness and oyster pie, and more. It’s all deeply satisfying and very well prepared. Oysters come from Wright Brothers’ own Duchy farm in Cornwall, elsewhere in Britain or France; fish is from small Cornish fishing boats. A wide ranging wine list offers plenty of choice.
