Yahaira's Cafe Restaurant Review:
A casual spinoff of neighboring El Portal, Yahaira’s is a charming, festively colored and slightly congested little café perfect for a breakfast burrito or huevos Yucatán (tortilla smothered with black bean purée, topped with eggs, ham and salsa). At lunch, you can opt for tortas (sandwiches) filled with carne asada or garlicky stewed pork, as well as a variety of reliable salads. Service is accommodating, and there tends to be a lighter quality to most of the dishes here. Yahaira’s is a good place to snack before or after movies at the art house cinema complex across the street, particularly on the pleasant arcade terrace. To drink, find beer, wine and Mexican hot chocolate.
