Yas Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Yas means garden in Farsi, and entering this restaurant is very much like encountering a tranquil garden, with soft lighting, a white-and-peach color scheme and fresh flowers. Appetizers range from yogurt to hummus, all meant to be scooped up with wedges of pita bread. The salad of choice is the shirazi, composed of chopped cucumber, onions and tomatoes with a lemon and olive oil dressing. Kebabs, of which there are a dozen, come with lavash and a hillock of fluffy basmati rice bathed in butter and served with grilled tomatoes. House specials are available, too, as is an extensive vegetarian menu. Traditional baklava and other Persian desserts and strong coffee or mint tea finish the meal on an authentic note.
