Yemanja Brasil Restaurant Review:
For colorful style and exotic food, head to this longtime neighborhood favorite. Start the evening off with a caipirinha along with appetizers such as fried yucca root with curry sauce or empanadas filled with beef and green olives, shrimp, or hearts of palm. Top billing goes to the feijoada --- black bean stew with sausage, pork, imported dried beef, farofa (yucca flour crumbs), greens and rice. Seafood dishes are good, too, including the shrimp in a yucca-coconut cream sauce. For dessert, try the dense, super-sweet coconut bread pudding with caramel-cream sauce. And, whatever you do, don't pass up the Brazilian espresso, which is smooth enough to make the sugar-in-my-coffee crowd think twice.
