Three generations of the Castaneda family pride themselves on their continuing tradition of offering fresh fare (guacamole and salsas are made two to three times a day) at this snappy cafeteria-style spot. Load up on Mexican street-style, Baja or American tacos, and burritos built with grilled chicken or steak, fish, ground beef, beans and rice or vegetables. The house variation on the burrito, called a “Bowl-Rito,” brings the chosen variety served in a bowl sans tortilla. Meanwhile, a “Tacon” is a crispy cone-shaped large flour tortilla packed with rice, beans, and your choices of fillings and toppings. Dine-in or carry-out. Zumba’s attached parking lot gives it an edge in parking-starved Royal Oak.
