Echo & Rig Steakhouse & Butcher Shop will offer its annual Thanksgiving Feast, featuring oven-ready turkey and heat-and-serve sides to serve at your home.

The full menu, which serves 6-8 and is priced at $265, includes oven-ready Diestel Farms whole turkey (14-16 lbs.), brown sugar yams, roasted autumn vegetables, dinner rolls, traditional stuffing, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Sides are pre-cooked and instructions for heating are included. All items are also available à la carte.

Pick up will be only at the Echo & Rig Steakhouse & Butcher Shop Las Vegas location in Tivoli Village. Locale Italian Kitchen in Mountain’s Edge is offering a Thanksgiving to-go meal of creative plays on holiday classics to serve up to six guests.

Available for $149.99, the meal includes herb-roasted turkey breast with sawmill gravy, garlic & butter mashed potatoes, herbed stuffing, roasted honey glazed carrots, garlic & lemon buttered green beans, candied yams, cranberry sauce, sourdough rolls and pumpkin pie.

Family style additions are rigatoni bolognese or fettucine alfredo (+80), rigatoni alla vodka ($48) and 42 oz. tomahawk ribeye (+100).

Wolfgang Puck’s Caramá showcasing northern Italian food has replaced the celebrity chef’s Lupo at Mandalay Bay.

The décor contributes to a warm and opulent ambiance with black and white tile, marble chandeliers, brass light fixtures, mahogany arches, a functional ice cream car and a large bar with colorful floral wallpaper and a vintage-style mirror.

The menu includes fennel & arugula salad with blood orange vinaigrette and dried tomatoes; pizza patate e pancetta with fromage blanc, Yukon Gold potatoes and crisp pancetta; ricotta and spinach ravioli with toasted pine nuts and sage brown butter; grilled whole Mediterranean sea bass with lemon and capers; 12 oz Prime NY strip with confit tomato and mushroom-red wine reduction; and lemon semi-freddo with seasonal fruits and pistachio crunch.

Complementing the fare is a wine cellar with more than 7,000 bottles, including rare Italian, and an extensive whiskey collection with gems such as Baker’s and Whistle Pig 10 year.

Dinner nightly

José Andrés Group has debuted Bazaar Mar, a seafood-driven restaurant on the main level of The Shops at Crystals.

The 7,428 square-foot space features playful touches with handmade 3D tiles shaped as vegetables, an oversized custom mural depicting a surreal seaside scene, custom seafood realism-inspired artwork, and an upside-down orange tree.

The menu is centered around seafood dishes, rooted in Spanish flavors with dishes such as cobia “rosa” ceviche with “rose” of leche de tigre, nasturtium leaf, sweet potato and corn nuts; bluefin tuna and fried egg with chu-toro sashimi, quail eggs, and soy dashi; and oyster mushroom “sea anemone” with mushroom essence, anchovy aioli and pickled sea beans. A selection of vegetables, salads and meat dishes is also available.

The beverage program features a Spanish-forward wine list with a large selection of white wine producers and bottles from small, family-operated wineries that José Andrés has built relationships with over the years.

Bramàre means to crave in Italian, and it’s a fitting name for many reasons, including filling a void for those craving late-night dining (Bramàre is open till 3 a.m.) in a 24-hour town that has relatively few upscale dining options past 10 p.m.

The décor features hanging wicker basket lights, exposed ductwork, black brick walls and black suede banquettes.

The menu includes:

  • pesce crudo comprised of Baja striped bass, Calabrian mayo, fennel, orange and pickled chilis
  • pizzas with untraditional ingredients like braised beef cheeks with goat cheese, potato, sofrito spread and pickled onion
  • Skull Island prawns oven roasted and served with frutti di mare broth
  • tagliatelle with wild boar ragu, sage and Parmigiano-Reggiano
  • “something” like tiramisu with tiramisu cream, espresso syrup and Italian grissini breadsticks

The Italian-inspired fare is rounded out with wines mainly from Sonoma, Napa and Italy.

Roma Kitchen, serving classic Italian cuisine, is now open in Southern Highlands near Decatur and Cactus, and joins the eatery’s original location in Henderson.

The décor features a black and white color scheme with white tile floor, black curtains, white tablecloths, black booths and chairs and white brick walls.  

The kitchen is helmed by chef Ricardo Romo, who spent several years working at renowned restaurants on the Strip such as Michael Mina’s Seablue, STK, Mastro’s Ocean Club and Beer Park before opening his own: Chef’s Roma Kitchen on Horizon Ridge in Henderson.

Highlights of the menu are grilled vegetable salad with warm broccoli, artichoke, asparagus, cherry tomato and red pepper; gnocchi with cream sauce, truffles and mushroom; main courses including NY steak, pork chop, branzino, Chilean seabass, veal parmigiana and chicken marsala; and Italian dessert favorites like tiramisu, cheesecake, gelato and sorbet.

Sgrizzi by Chef Marc is a new venture by acclaimed chef Marc Sgrizzi in Mountains Edge.

The Italian restaurant is fronted by a bakery that creates the restaurant’s desserts such NY cheesecake, house made gelato and tiramisu—as well as operating as a market offering a variety of house-made pastries, sandwiches, gelato, tarts and espresso drinks.

The dining room’s décor features dark hardwood and decorative tile flooring, tan-hued booths and chairs and large TVs above the bar displaying images and videos of some of chef Marc’s culinary masterpieces.

Highlights of the menu are burrata salad with creamy stracciatelle filled mozzarella ball and heirloom tomatoes; chargrilled Spanish octopus with cannellini beans and celery; casarecce pasta with English peas purée sauce and pancetta; pan roasted pork chop with hot and sweet peppers; sea scallops served on cauliflower puree; and steak options of NY strip, ribeye, veal piccata and dry aged tomahawk.

Palate is now open in the Colorado building at in the heart of the Downtown Arts District.

The décor features vibrant colors with purple chairs, bright orange bar seats and plush vivid red booths; original artwork by local artists (all of which is for sale); and crystal chandeliers. 

Executive chef Sterling Buckley, who previously helmed kitchens at La Cave, Honey Salt and Gordon Ramsay Steak, has created a menu with diverse cultural influences. Described as Modern Americana, examples of the diverse fusion of soul food include scallops “tiger style” with coconut leche de tigre, smoked trout roe, kumquats and cucumber; lady in green salad with Pink Lady apples, house ricotta, cornbread croutons and shishito vinaigrette; shrimp gnocchi with lobster truffle, mushrooms, shaved fennel and chili cream; and painter’s beef tartare mixed tableside on an artist palette with pickled red onions, furikake and XO-frito served with foie cornbread.

Honor BBQ is now open in Mountain’s Edge in Southwest Las Vegas. The décor features red brick walls; state flags of Texas, Tennessee and Nevada; license plates from several states; and a large patio with cornhole and giant Jenga.

Azzurra Wine Bar is now open just steps away from Azzurra Cucina Italiana.

The sister wine bar shares the space with daytime coffeehouse Public Works Coffee Bar, which was remodeled to add a new front and back bar, upgraded counters, a private events space and seats for 46 guests in the main room and retail space and 24 in an outdoor patio.

The food menu by chef Alessandra Madeira of Azzurra Cucina Italiana includes mini meatballsdeep fried rice balls, garlic truffle fries, rotating cheese and charcuterie options and dips. The wine list features more than 75 different wines by the bottle, with global fine wines from notable regions to enjoy in the space or to take home. Wines by the glass range from $9-$28 with a rotating selection of guest favorites and new offerings.

Social Station Kitchen & Cocktails is now open at Horizon Ridge and Eastern in Henderson.

The name alludes to the fact that the restaurant is non-gaming and allows for interactions between guests without the distraction of noisy gaming machines. The décor includes hardwood flooring, wood tables, greenery, large screen TVs (one of which depicts images of Old Vegas) and large windows allowing for ample natural light. 

The lunch/dinner menu features elevated American comfort food such as roasted portobello sandwich with truffle honey and Boursin, beef bourguignon with mashed potatoes and red pearl onions and ½ roasted chicken with panzanella salad and chicken jus. Brunch, served on weekends, offers favorites like smoked salmon avocado toast topped with egg and house-made everything spice, steak & eggs drizzled in chimichurri sauce and vanilla French toast infused with vanilla and blackberry compote. Desserts include tiramisu, crème brulée, skillet cookie salted caramel crunch and homemade powdered sugar donuts with raspberry sauce.

Harlø Steakhouse & Bar in Downtown Summerlin is presenting its latest tasting menu, showcasing executive chef partner Gina Marinelli’s take on authentic Argentinian cuisine.

The package is available only to guests seated in the Proper Bar area. It is available Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Priced at $35 per person (plus tax and tip), the menu allows guests to choose an antipasti, pasta and dessert. Included are choice of Prime beef meatballs with roasted garlic and Parmesan, Giuliana’s Italian salad with salumi and pepperoncini or truffled garlic bread; rigatoni alla vodka with imported burrata or carbonara spaghetti with black pepper pancetta; and tiramisu, dark chocolate gelato or caramel gelato.

The Mediterranean restaurant Cathédrale at ARIA has debuted several seasonal dishes and welcomed its new executive chef Brett LaReau.

The new menu items include Mediterranean meze with chickpea hummus, tzatziki and red pepper feta; handmade burrata with marinated peppers and chickpea beignets; fluke crudo with watermelon, capers and mint; tomato Mykonos with kalamata olive, cucumber and feta; roasted summer vegetables with baby carrots, zucchini, beets and Greek yogurt; garnet sweet potato; Maine lobster rigatoni with squid ink pasta; Moroccan prawns with red wine vinaigrette; 48 oz Mishima Reserve tomahawk with shallot confit; baked zucchini & tomato; vanilla labneh with Greek yogurt, preserved strawberry and white chocolate streusel; and baklava Napoleon with candied walnuts, thyme honey and cinnamon diplomat ice cream.

Mott 32 at The Palazzo has launched its “Brunch 32” dim sum brunch offered Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Highlights include 42-day applewood roasted Peking duck, Szechuan style dumplings with minced pork and chili oil, crabmeat & corn soup, stir-fried lo mein noodles, hot & sour seafood soup dumplings, scallop seafood dumpling topped with caviar and BBQ pork cheung fun.

Several unique cocktails have also been created to complement the brunch items, such as Kowloon Coffee made with vodka, single cup extraction coffee, cream and soy sauce; Tang-Tang, a margarita variant with tequila, mandarin, condensed milk, lime agave and house-made Szechuan coconut crunch; and Treasure Cloud, served tableside in a dim sum basket with champagne and exotic fruits like lychee, passionfruit, dragon fruit and mandarins.

Ortikia Mediterranean Grill recently debuted at Green Valley Ranch.

The restaurant is presenting authentic Greek dishes, all prepared on a traditional wood-fire grill. The restaurant has launched its all-new Arazo Hour—a Greek-inspired reverse happy hour available Sunday through Thursday from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Carson Kitchen, founded by chef and restaurateur Cory Harwell​ in partnership with celebrity chef and his dear friend, the late Chef Kerry Simon, opened in Downtown Las Vegas in 2014.

Chef Julian Serrano’s Picasso at the Bellagio has closed in August 2024.

The acclaimed restaurant named for the authentic Picasso artwork displayed on its walls, opened in 1998 when the Bellagio resort debuted and ushered in a new era of fine dining on the Las Vegas Strip. During its 25-year tenure, the lakeside restaurant with a stellar view of the Bellagio Fountains garnered much notoriety for its fine dining opulence. Serrano has also stepped away from his involvement at Bellagio’s Lago, but remains at the helm of Julian Serrano Tapas at ARIA Resort & Casino.

Bryan and Michael Voltaggio’s Retro by Voltaggio has concluded its one-year culinary residency at Mandalay Bay on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

The fun 80s and 90s themed venue debuted in May, 2023 with décor and nostalgic dishes with a twist. The restaurant’s entryway featured a museum-like display filled with nostalgic memorabilia the brothers grew up with and the menu included quirky items such as VoltaggiO’s, a take on SpaghettiOs with housemade O’s, arrabbiata butter and giant meatball presented in an aluminum can. Chefs Bryan and Michael said, “We had a blast bringing Retro to Las Vegas. Thank you to the Mandalay Bay team and the many creative partners who brought our vision to life. And to all the diners who visited and geeked out on the experience, we appreciate you and hope to serve you again real soon.

The Mirage opened in 1989

It has been an iconic property known for its outdoor erupting volcano show, Siegried and Roy Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, the Cirque du Soleil Beatles LOVE show and several restaurants representing a cross-section of cuisines. After Hard Rock International acquired the property in 2022, and now as of July 17 the entire property will be shut down as the resort transitions into the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas. Full-service restaurants closing include Diablo’s Cantina (Mexican), Heritage Steakhouse (steaks and seafood), Osteria Costa (Italian) and Otoro (Asian). Stack (steaks and seafood), previously closed in November, 2023.

As for the hotel, the rebranded resort will feature a 600-foot guitar-shaped hotel tower. The reopening is targeted for a spring 2027 opening, and the renovation will generate 2,500 construction jobs. Hard Rock is paying about $80 million in severance packages for employees.

The tropical-themed Margaritaville at the Flamingo is slated to close on June 1, 2024, after its lease expires.

The restaurant chain inspired by the late Jimmy Buffet’s song has nearly 30 locations worldwide and the Las Vegas location had been open since 2003. The sizeable three-level restaurant with six bars featured live music, burgers and bar food and several varieties of margaritas. A statement by the company’s senior director of marketing Chris Blatz said, “After an incredibly successful 20 years in business serving locals and travelers alike, we are saddened by the closure, but the team is actively exploring new opportunities for the brand within the city and we look forward to our future in Las Vegas.”

The hotel, which first opened in 1957, closed on April 2, 2024, as it is slated to be demolished to make way for the $1.5 billion baseball stadium that will be the new home of the relocating Oakland Athletics.

With the demise of the historic resort comes the closure of a handful of restaurants, most notably Robert Irvine’s Public House. The celebrity chef’s gastropub opened in 2017 and was known for serving comfort food options (including pizza, sliders, ribs and fish & chips) inspired by chef Irvine’s culinary travels from around the world in a pub-like atmosphere. Also closing at the Tropicana are the high-end Oakville Tuscan Grill steakhouse and the quick-serve Red Lotus Asian Kitchen.
