THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED 9 Restaurant Restaurant Review:
This Hell’s Kitchen restaurant is helmed by chef Eric Hara, who helped revitalize The Oak Room. Hara appears to be in his comfort zone here, creating edible gems in the form of slightly tricked out, feel good fare. There are cocktails that contain sriracha sauce and Colt 45 beer (though not together) and there’s a wine list that rounds up the best intermediate-priced bottles from California, France and Italy. One could order a table full of appetizers and be perfectly content: the lobster “Pigs ‘n’ a Blanket,” yes a lobster hot dog, and the burrata ravioli (with candied pistachios) are good bets. So is the crab and sea urchin mac ‘n’ cheese, which has an earthy and briny taste. For heartier fare, the Ritz Cracker-encrusted New York strip steak is a treat, but carnivores should not miss the softball-size pork shank, crispy on the outside and gooey pork goodness on the inside (hint: two can easily fill up on it). There’s a very good peanut butter bar for dessert, but with so many savory delights preceding it, don’t worry about saving room.
