THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Acorn Restaurant Review:
With its classic veranda, a good spot for enjoying a meal outdoors, The Acorn blends California culinary sensibilities with Southern ingredients. The restaurant is located within easy walking distance of Centennial Park, Nashville’s flagship green space, and a grand reproduction of the Parthenon that houses an art gallery. The Acorn takes its cue from the traditional Southern symbol of hospitality, an image of which often was worked into architecture as a sign of welcome. We suggest the chorizo-and-potato-crusted halibut with Jack Daniel’s cream sauce or the buttermilk blue cheese terrine with blackberry jam and salted pecans. Creative vegetarian offerings also find their way into the mix. Desserts are made from scratch in-house; a star is the flourless chocolate cake. The wine list includes bottles from all over the globe; approximately half are available by the glass.
