THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Armani Cafe Restaurant Review:
Newbury Street's Armani Café is a Vogue spread come to life. Both throughout the airy dining room and out on the sidewalk terrace of this trattoria---adjoined to the designer boutique for which it's named---lithe young things click their Manolo heels, Euros chat on buzzing cell-phones, and black-clad power-shoppers scan the crowd while sipping chilled whites. Yet for all the see-and-be-seen bustle, the unfussy Northern Italian cuisine can be shockingly good, especially now that seasoned restaurateur Seth Woods oversees the kitchen. Secondi piatti in particular, like potato-crusted halibut with red pepper cream or veal cutlets pan-fried with Gorgonzola, can be expertly crafted. They're not always expertly served, however: Beware the attitude.
