Avance, despite its French name and location in the building that long housed Le Bec-Fin, is not intended to be a reboot of the storied French restaurant that closed in 2013 after more than four decades. Avance is a “progressive” American restaurant presided over by chef Justin Bogle. The look of the restaurant is as modern as its menu, with a living wall adorning the exterior and a dining room featuring bare wood tables and a "chandelier" fashioned from a cascade of glass globes lit by Edison-style bulbs.
