THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Avenue Sea Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED The Gibson Inn, on the National Register of Historic Places, had some major cosmetic surgery in the mid-1980s, but it still has the antebellum dignity that comes of wide wraparound porches, four-poster beds, antiques and slowly revolving ceiling fans. Its restaurant is Avenue Sea, a breakfast and lunch spot serving the inn and locals alike. The laudable breakfast ranges from eggs Benedict to rib-sticking biscuits and sausage gravy, whereas the lunch is an opportunity to show off the local bounty---Eastern oysters pulled from the Bay each morning and swiftly brought to table on the half shell, fried in a po' boy or swirled into heady chowder.
