AVRA 48th Street Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Thanks to Greek architect Yianni Skordas, we can all feel like we’ve escaped to the Ionian coast at this Midtown restaurant. Avra’s interior is resplendent with limestone floors, stonewashed walls, and French doors framing an outdoor terrace.
Food & Drinks: The Mediterranean menu emphasizes the seaside ambience in dishes like charcoal grilled fish, oregano fries, and fried calamari. Just don’t forget to start with the pita bread accompanied by artisan spreads of roasted eggplant, garlic, almonds and carp. And, if you're thirsty, nothing finishes off a meal better than a nice shot of uozo, the Greek-made anise-flavored liqueur.
