The Franklin Fountain Restaurant Review:
Sundaes and splits make a strong showing at this ice cream destination in Old City, or take it straight-up in a cup or cone. Look for a rotating menu of traditional homemade, seasonal flavors such as fresh peach in summer and some unexpected options like Teaberry (yes, same as the chewing gum) year-round. Themed sundaes with names such as the Franklin Mint and Lightening Rod bring Philly to the table. Sodas, phosphates, milkshakes and egg creams round out the coolers. In winter, warm up with fruit pies, cakes and cookies, as well as European-style drinking chocolate, traditional cocoa and "hot milkshakes" --- a house specialty.
