Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ Restaurant Review:

This family-friendly mini-chain serves up Southern-style barbecue including sweet hickory-smoked baby-back ribs smothered in a tangy barbecue sauce, plus sandwiches and seafood. Starters worthy of sharing include onions strings, roasted artichoke with a garlicky mayo, and cornmeal-battered okra with a Creole mustard dip. In addition to the respectable ’cue, the dinner menu also offers steaks, jambalaya and Southern-style fried catfish. Oversize desserts include Snickers ice cream pie, banana cream pudding served in a Mason jar and red velvet cake. Big, bustling and filled with kids, Lucille’s is more formulaic than our favorite neighborhood joints, but it certainly satisfies a fix for down-home Southern fare. The restaurant’s Flying Pig Lounge serves up the barbecue, alongside a full bar and a selection of martinis and margaritas. There’s live blues every Saturday. Other locations.
