Pronounced "Ashay," Axe is the Portuguese spelling of an African word meaning the energy of gods and goddesses. The restaurant’s focus is not on mythological forces, but on organic, farm-fresh products. Start with little dishes like goat cheese and whole-grain wheat toasts with roasted beets, curried butternut squash soup, and roasted cauliflower cooked in a paprika vinaigrette. Entrées include scallops on shell beans and cherry tomatoes, rabbit ragù with pappardelle, and duck leg confit with apple butter.
