THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Azul La Jolla Restaurant Review:
THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES TO THE STEAKHOUSE AT AZUL LA JOLLA. With a sweeping view of La Jolla Cove and the northward-stretching cliffs, Azul probably could get away with effectively renting out its tables by peddling high-priced but mediocre fare. But it offers high-quality fare that boasts inspirations from Provence and the Mediterranean. Among the starters, we recommend the artisans' meze platter, which features ten or so different kinds of nibbles, from shellfish in aïoli to shredded duck confit salad. Good main courses include the double-cut pork chop, and the sautéed local halibut sauced with tapenade. This restaurant offers a hip but relaxed mood, and the servers get the job done with a degree of professionalism not all that common in pricey La Jolla.
