Nothing can quite replace the ambience of the seaside restaurants in Puerto Nuevo, Baja’s famed lobster village about 45 minutes south of the border, but when your schedule doesn’t allow time for the drive---or the wait to re-enter the United States---head to Baja Lobster. Simply decorated and rather charming, it serves a menu of griddle-fried lobsters and other seafood dishes that are as authentic as you’d get in Puerto Nuevo. Tortillas, rice and beans are lifted to an art form here, and though you won’t find margaritas, there is plenty of Mexican beer to cast a glow over the occasion.
